HALF SISTERS
acrylic painting on canvas (8 X 10) I love paining these BabushkA dolls. They are small, colorful and each piece fits into each other requiring little space for storage. They can be arranged alone or with other items and can be alagoricaly arranged to tell a story. I ccreated half sisters by simply opening each doll and only using the top halfs.

SPARQ OF LIFE

New Painting... There are many sparks in our life, of course the original spark is birth, that moment when you first exist from seemingly out of nowhere and of course that spark goes out at the moment of death with the cessation of your existance. In between Life is ful of great sparks. Every time there is a change in your life it begins with the spark of an idea. And of course there is the spark of love, the spark of artistic creation and all the exciting moments throughout our life. Of course we create our own spark by bringing a child into the world, and that spark is our link with eternity. Yes we are all eternal

LINE OF SIGHT
New Painting of toy I found going through the children's toy box at the Dentists office. Most people read the magazines I'd rather play on the floor with the kid's. However he still wont give a lolypop

THE TO DO LIST Acrylic painting on Canvas (11 X 14)
Could you kill a chicken? Especially if you raised it from birth, fed it every day and gave it a name. Remember the chicken would have given you dozens and dozens of eggs and now you are asking it for the extreme sacrifice. Is it butchering a chicken or murdering a chicken? Or is there really any difference. What are your thoughts?

new Painting

"If Cat's and Mice Get Along. Why Can't We All Get Along?"

Bigotry is a big part of everyday life. This painting portrays Cats and Mice. Usually they never get along. What's this they are co-existing in the painting? Look how peaceful and happy they appear. Surely the human race is smarter than cats and dogs or are we? Do you know the significance of the 57 in the painting?

हंदले विथ Care

To see more of my work visit my website at http://www.yessy.com/melsteiner

New Painting "Handle with Care" This small painting shows how useful objects can be arranged to tell a story. All items in the painting must be handled with care, tools can be dangerous if handled improperly, too much salt can create high blood pressue leading to a stroke. The Bell signifies a start, possibly a boxing match, Marriage Bells, a new start, all things that can create disaster if improperly Handled. So handle life with care while having a good time. This of course is a balancing act but what isn't?

Dollar Store WaterPistol-Circa 1991

I couldn't resist painting this plastic water pistol. I found it in a box full of water guns in our Basement. Some years ago when the grandchildren were much younger, we would start each summer with a combination Barbecue/water gun fight. In those years we took part in the festivities and wound up soaked. and laughing. If we tried it today we would wind up soaked with every arthritic pain you can imagine. However the memories are there and from time to time some of our Grandchildren say..remember when.....

"A despicable instant or a Great Opportunity!

Acrylic on Canvas.A disaster can often turn out to be a great opportunity. One Canadian example is Terry Fox, devastaing news of his cancer and amputation lead to milions of dollars being raised for Cancer research. Oh yes and let's not forget that other great Canadian Fox named Michael J.

I

New Painting "It's a 5 cent World" (Acrylic 8 X 16)

When I was a kid in the 1940's, 5 cents would take me to a movie, another couple of nickels and I had a large popcorn and drink. A nickel would buy a comic book, chocolate bar, drink and lots more. A pocket full of nickels and I was a King. What a wonderful time it was to be a kid, I know there was a war on and we were just coming out of a depression. For a kid with a couple of nickels who cared, to quote Jimmy Cagney in the movie White Heat "Top of the world Ma, Top of the world."
